Dr. Phipps is a native of New Hampshire, born in Dover while his father was a student at UNH.  The family then moved to Springfield, VT when he was 5 year old where he he graduated from high school and the family moved again to Arizona.  Dr. Phipps attended Arizona State University, receiving his Bachelor of Science in Psychology. After a few years working as a medical technician in the Washington, D.C. area, he then attended the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA where he graduated Magma Cum Laude with his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. Dr. Phipps was part of the Jamaica Project while in school, where he traveled to Jamaica to provide needed dental services to the underserved population in north central Jamaica. Dr. Phipps was also inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the national honor society for dentistry, chosen for academic excellence and professional character.  After graduation, he moved back to New Hampshire and practiced as an associate in Hanover, NH for 3 years then moved to New London, where he partnered with Dr. Greg Gutgsell when Dr. John Wilson retired.  Dr. Phipps has expanded his dental knowledge over the years by attending the entire continuum of the Spear Institute in Scottsdale, Arizona and was an active member in the local Spear Study club for years. Most recently, the addition of digital dentistry to the office has kept things exciting, with an intergral digital scanner, CAD/CAM design and fabrication of dental restorations as well as 3D printing. Dr. Phipps enjoys all the New Hampshire has to offer: the lakes, mountains and ocean, hiking, biking, skiing and boating, as well as an avid fan of Boston sports teams.
